Dwight, Illinois

Ambler’s Texaco Gas Station, what once was called Becker’s Marathon Gas Station, is one of the more historic stops you can make while traveling route 66. Located in the small town of Dwight, it was the longest running gas station along route 66. This gas station actually stayed pumping gas for 66 years, up until 1999. This is a sight you won’t want to miss, considering it still has its old school Texaco sign standing tall. On top of that, it is a great old school photo opportunity because there is still a classic car that sits out front. Ambler’s’ Texaco Gas Station is not a stop you will want to miss while in Dwight.
