Golden Valley, Arizona
Cool Springs is one of the more forgotten stops along route 66, even though back in the day it was a savior to many route 66 travelers. This used to be a place where visitors new they were saved, because they could stop for oil, gas, and a bite to eat. Even the road that it is located on, is featured in the book “Grapes of Wrath”. Of course, as they added new roads, this part of route 66 got cut off and visitors stopped coming through. However, in the early 2000s it was rediscovered and revamped for visitors of all ages to see. Now, stop by and explore the amazing site and all the lovely gifts that they have featured inside. One thing you must do is go see the Cool Springs garden, which features 2 beautiful sculptures with a lot of history that ties to the Mojave Indian peoples and other native tribes.
