Tucumcari, New Mexico

In the town of Tucumcari, NM is Mesaland Community college. At this college, is the Mesaland’s Dinosaur Museum, which has almost 10,000 square feet full of dinosaur bones and other artifacts. On top of that, they have even more space in the back that houses private samples and other artifacts, which you cannot see. This museum and community college focus’s their research on the era when dinosaurs roamed, and man do they know a lot! They even host special events throughout the year for children of all ages to come and learn something new about the dinosaurs! This museum has been open since 2000, and is definitely NOT a stop you want to miss while exploring route 66.
