Spencer, Missouri is the most interesting ghost town you will find, simply because it has turned into a ghost town two separate times. Originally founded in the 1870s, it was already deserted by the early 1900s. Once route 66 opened its roads past the town, it got a few people that tried to revamp the town but it quickly became deserted once again. There are a few cool buildings to explore there, such as an old barbershop that still has an old chair inside. Also, there is a café and feed store that you can peak inside the windows off. However, the most preserved building is the Phillips 66 Spencer Garage. While you are there, notice the old gas sign, which was only 0.12 when it closed.
