Los Angeles, California
The Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles is an interesting way to learn about the development of Southern California, through various houses on the property. As you walk through the houses, you will learn about the architecture as well as culture and history of that area from the 1850s-1950s. There are various demonstrations you will see, such as a blacksmith and spinners spinning thread. You will learn that all of the houses in this square were actually moved to the property for this purpose, and they all have an interesting history in themselves. Although you won’t be able to take any pictures inside the homes, the chances to snap some of these exquisite homes on the outside is well worth it, along with everything you will learn. Be prepared to survive whatever weather is happening at that moment, as you have to walk outdoors to get from building to building.
