The J.H. Hawes Grain Elevator Museum in Atlanta is located in a beautiful red barn style building. Located right in the heart of Illinois, you will get to learn about the biggest money maker to the state, agriculture. Here you will see the history of the grain elevator, and you can actually see a 1904 grain elevator that is the only fully restored grain elevator left in Illinois. The museum inside talks all about grain storage over the years, along with the smart new farming concepts that helped farmer’s store and move grain easier. Definitely not something you will get to see anywhere else, it is something you must stop and see when you get the chance.
