Tulsa, Oklahoma

The John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park is a sad reminder of some bad times in our history. However, it is important to understand the past in order to make for a brighter future, and this is definitely a place to do just that. This park has memorial statues that explain the “Race Riot Massacre” that happened in Tulsa. There are 2 huge memorials with signs to thoroughly explained what happened. However, once you have read those, it is smart to go around the park and really take the time to read all the signs that are around it. They explain a lot of history, as well as the aftermath of it, in a peaceful setting that will leave you thinking about a lot.
