Ozark Trail was a set of roads that scattered across many states before freeways were a thing. One thing that is interesting is that it was privately maintained by citizens and local communities. The only thing that the government provided was money for the Ozark Trail Bridge. Now, the sections of this old road in Oklahoma are known as the Old Ozark Trails. You can still go and explore these old roads, some of which are still smoother than the state run roads we have these days. Also, you will get the chance to see some beautiful scenery as you drive down these roads.
