The Old State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois is a beautiful building to stop and see if you are in the area or passing through. It was built in the early 30s in a Greek Revival style, and was used as the building of the House from the 40s all the way up until the 70s. When you arrive, you can park underground in the garage. After that, you can go upstairs and explore the museum inside, which is filled with facts about the history of Springfield. Inside, you get to learn about the culture of the city, some of the famous stops to make, and the actual story about the founders first arriving.
