Holbrook, Arizona

The Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona is a beautiful sight that you would never think is hiding in our country, and it is the only park that actually had a part of the historic route 66 in it. In fact, on the park you are able to go and see “the main street of America” where there are still telephone poles standing to show you where route 66 once was. There is more than just the average hiking, biking and backpacking in this park. You can also horseback ride, geocaching (https://www.nps.gov/pefo/planyourvisit/geocaching.htm) and an inside exhibit full of information about the rocks and animals in the park (https://www.nps.gov/pefo/planyourvisit/visitorcenters.htm).
