Gallup, New Mexico

Richardson’s Trading Post has to be the first stop you make once you reach Gallup. Although it was opened as a trading post, it has turned into more of a Native American Museum these days. Filled with beautiful pieces of handmade turquoise jewelry, and other various Native American jewelry makes it the perfect spot to stop and get something new to accessorize with history. Don’t spend all your time exploring the jewelry though, as they also offer a variety of handmade rugs and art pieces you can take home for yourself. On top of all that, you can ask anyone who works there about the history of any piece, and they can explain the story and meaning behind it all.
