The Old City Jail in Texola, Oklahoma is a jail like no other that you will see. The jail itself was only open from 1908-1910, and it was mostly used to hold drunken people in the town. However, when you walk up to it, you would have no idea you are looking at a jail. It is a simple, small stone building that almost resembles a shed in someone’s backyard. With one simple metal door to get in and out, the jail is only one room and that is for holding people inside. If you choose to step inside, the walls are filled with old picture of people who have ended up in the jail, along with a little about the history of it.
