The historic Will Rogers Hotel sits in Claremore, not too far from the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Built in 1930’s, it was built with extremely exquisite taste and even featured a bomb shelter in the basement because of the time it was built. Now, it is no longer a hotel, but a bunch of nice apartments. However, some areas of this old hotel are still open to the public to explore. One area you must see is the 6th floor, where you can see the giant mineral bath tubs that were once used to pamper guest of the hotel. Back in the day, these mineral baths were popular because of all 13 minerals found in this water, even though it was said to have smelled of rotten eggs. Also, you can still explore the first floor of the old hotel, and the beautiful ball rooms that were used for various occasions.
